Outgoing Server Login on Outlook Keeps Popping Up

This unremarkably means your password on the e-mail server has changed, and the one you're typing into that popup does not friction match, so it asks again (and once again and once more).

If yous are sure it's correct, I would get to the website that runs your email and change your password, as it may have been compromised.

This happens to me.  I click OK, then information technology checks for my email successfully.  Information technology is not a trouble with the password.  Information technology happens when the password has not changed.  How do I know?  The side by side time Outlook checks for email, it works just fine.  It simply has to practise with the fact that Outlook has checked for e-mail and for some reason has timed out (presumably the server at the other end did non respond fast plenty), so the pop-upwards occurs.  In my instance (and I suspect in many others) it has nada to do with a countersign change.  I accept tried upping the time that it checks for email to 6 minutes, and it still happens.

Information technology makes i wonder why Outlook does non take an option for "Automobile retry later Ten minutes, for a total number of Y retries" before this EXTREMELY Abrasive popup occurs.  I wonders why Microsoft blows this off.  I suppose the simple answer is that information technology does not accept place in the usage of any Outlook developers.  One wonders if perhaps Outlook developers don't fifty-fifty utilize Outlook because it is so Annoying.

I don't know virtually Microsoft, but my company has most 800 people using it and none of u.s. are having that problem. I'd be hearing almost it if there was.

What kind of server is it?  Why does the server reject the password the first time?

Two different servers: Cox (pop.west.cox.internet) and Godaddy (pop.secureserver.cyberspace).  I presume others are experiencing exactly what I am experiencing due to posts I read when I google around for a solution.  Obviously most do not see this trouble, but information technology appears that there are many of us that do, and I can tell yous it is very annoying.

As to why the server rejects information technology the first time (fifty-fifty with a 6 minute timeout), only the server gods know.  BTW, I merely got the pop up as I was typing this, clicked OK and Outlook went on its merry way.

Cheers very much,MardAZ!

It was some months ago that this happened at home and even more months previously that information technology happened at work.

I am glad to know that information technology is a server fourth dimension out outcome and non a password or Outlook setup issue. It did cease on its own awhile dorsum, but Oh Lord! How irritating! -Right in the middle of a Give-and-take document and not looking at the screen, just typing on my merry manner and the popular up took precedence over the Word document and I institute out that I was non only Not saving my thoughts in the Word document, but I was also using that train of thoughts every bit my "password" that was previously, automatically input when Outlook decided to check for new email.

Cheers,

dave

To prevent the password prompt from popping up you must update your electronic mail account settings to tell Outlook to remember your password.

1. Click "File" on the primary carte in Outlook, click "Info," select the "Account Settings" pop-up menu and and then click "Account Settings."

2. Click the "Electronic mail" tab if it is not already selected.

iii. Click the e-mail business relationship that keeps prompting you to enter your password. Accounts are listed under the Names heading.

4. Click the "Change" link located simply above the list of accounts.

5. Enter your password in the Password field located nether Logon Information.

vi. Identify a bank check mark in the Recall Password bank check box to have Outlook remember your password.

vii. Click "Side by side" and and then click "OK" to save your settings.
